Maxim, Luhansk

Across the conflict stricken regions of Ukraine diabetes festers due to the war. The war has resulted in there being no medical support in the disputed territories. Along with the stresses the conflict brings and the struggle to provide children with a healthy diet, children are suffering with a severe lack of insulin and healthy food causing distress for single parents and families. ChildAid is working tirelessly with local volunteers to supply these children with insulin, medicine and food.

Maxim is 17 years old and lives with his mother in a fatherless household in the conflict stricken region of Luhansk.

When he was 11 years old when he was diagnosed with diabetes. For the last six years, his survival has depended on a continuing supply of insulin. +ChildAid's volunteers currently supply Maxim with insulin, which he and his mother is very grateful for.

Unfortunately Maxim's mother can not afford to buy insulin, and recieves no support from Maxim's estranged father who we're told is more concerned with the war than his son's health. Maxim's mother Olga works as a care assistant in the local hospital; a extremely low paying job. The families financial situation is in dire straits and desperately need the support from our partners. You can support our work in providing insulin to children in need by donating to our Eureka appeal - bit.ly/17gjRTp

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
